How to Choose and Maintain Isuzu D-Max Car Mats

There are things that are so simple yet so essential you don't even pay attention to them most of the time. One example is the mats in your car. Sure there are more complex tech found in today's cars, but none of it is as important as a mat since it's not as simple. Car mats, especially in vehicles that are meant to be pushed to their limit through all kinds of terrain, just like a D-Max, are as important as engine bay components.
This may sound extreme, but mats are able to protect more than just the carpet and keep your car a lot cleaner by just being in your vehicle. They are also able to reduce road noises from getting through the floor and act as comfort-increasing accessories that can also make the interior look a lot better.

Types of Car Mats

Fabric

In the same way, a D-Max is available with different configurations, floor mats are available made of different materials. Fabric is one of them and it makes for one of the most affordable Isuzu D-Max car mats you'll come across. Fabric mats are light and easy to clean while being sound insulating and great at trapping dirt. What they're not good for are spills.

Rubber

With rubber mats, you can expect some of the best materials when it comes to keeping spills contained. They are also quite affordable and easy to clean. Rubber mats are not made for hot days though as they can start to smell when your car has been sitting in the sun for a bit.

Vinyl

Another set of synthetic Dmax floor mats that are easy to clean are vinyl or all-weather mats. They can be used any time of the year and are able to keep fluid from getting to the floor. However, they are not as reasonably priced as the above two and can't keep dust in place.

Polyurethane

Polyurethane Isuzu D max mats are one of the most durable ones while being good at keeping spills in one place. Like vinyl and rubber, polyurethane mats are also not able to trap dirt but at least they release little to no odour when exposed to heat.

3D

If you go for 3D mats you can expect the best coverage. Hey have high sides which cover even part of the centre console and with that, they keep everything from spills to dirt, dust and grime in one place. Although 3D mats are more expensive they are easy to clean and can change the interior the most.

Nomad

Curly or nomad Isuzu D Max mats are able to provide the comfort of a fabric mat with the spill containment of a synthetic one. Thanks to their curly fibres any spills are soaked up almost immediately and dust is trapped well too. They are more difficult to clean though.

Size

The first and most important thing about Isuzu D-Max car mats is their size. If they are too big they won't fit in your D-Max and if they're too small they won't provide enough protection. Compatibility is key with car mats and getting the right size mats is how you'll ensure they're made for your D-Max.

Water Retention

Water and other fluids should not be on the floor by any means. This is why having Dmax floor mats that can retain water in one place is important. Be it by soaking it in or just letting it move around the mat, it's not that important.

Backing

What's actually rather important for every type of mat is its backside. If it doesn't have a rubber surface or rubber spikes it won't stay in place. This way you will fiddle around with it instead of focusing on the road.

Vacuum

Owning car mats isn't enough to make the most out of them, you should keep them in good shape too. Everything starts by vacuuming them from time to time as dust can accumulate quite a bit, especially in fabric mats. Synthetic D-Max floor mats don't keep dust in one place, meaning you should vacuum them more frequently.

Wash

Talking about synthetic mats, they are much easier to wash than fabric ones. All you need to do is hose them down from time to time and they won't need hours to get back in shape like fabric mats do. Fabric mats, on the other hand, require the use of specific cleaning solutions in order to keep the fibres in good shape.

Dry

Last but not least you should dry off the mats completely before you put them back in your car. This goes especially for fabric mats as they can take quite a bit to dry off completely. When it comes to rubber mats, you can put them out on the sun and they can get bone dry in a matter of minutes.
